Help join the fight against food deserts by posting a fun fruit or veggie selfie!
Thank you to Naked Juice for sponsoring this post! As always, all opinions are my own.
Today’s post is a little different than my usual recipe posts. I’m joining Naked Juice in the fight against food deserts, helping to spread the word about the #DrinkGoodDoGood campaign. What’s a food desert, you ask? A food desert is an area that has limited access to affordable and nutritious food like fruits and vegetables. Although many of us may not be aware of this problem, nearly 30 million Americans live in food deserts.
These areas fall short on stores and markets that provide nutritious whole foods, especially fruits and vegetables. Instead, they’re often full of markets selling processed foods, which have a low nutritional content compared to fresh produce. These processed foods, which are laden with hidden sodium, sugar, and fat, provide empty calories and are contributors to our nation’s obesity epidemic.

Fortunately, Naked Juice is partnering with Whole Wave to help increase access to affordable fruits and vegetables through the #DrinkGoodDoGood campaign. Naked Juice is kicking off the campaign with a 250,000-pound contribution to Wholesome Wave’s SNAP Doubling Program and asking consumers to get involved as well!
So how can you help? Well, we all love taking selfies, right? Now you can do some good with your selfie! All you have to do is take a picture of yourself with some fruits or veggies and hashtag #DrinkGoodDoGood. For every fruit and veggie selfie shared using #DrinkGoodDoGood, Naked Juice will donate an additional 10 pounds of produce to communities in need. It’s as easy as that!

Aww, what a cute idea! There's Naked Juice at our hospital and a fruit bin, so I'm definitely gonna have to get on board with this--such a great campaign! :]

What a fantastic campaign! We really take for granted how accessible good, whole foods are. So many people don't have the same access!
P.S. I love that pic of you guys with the lemons/lime.
