This Dutch oven beef stew comes together in one pot. Then just let it simmer away in the oven until it's done.

What you'll need:

Olive oil Beef chuck  Onion Garlic Tomato paste Flour Red wine Beef broth Thyme Bay leaf Potatoes Carrots Vinegar Salt and pepper

Step-by-step instructions

Follow my easy instructions for success!

Step 1: Sear the beef on all sides in a Dutch oven over medium high heat. Transfer to a plate.

Step 2: Add the onion and garlic and cook until softened. Stir in the tomato paste.

Step 3: Add the beef back to the pot and sprinkle flour on top. Cook until flour is dissolved.

Step 4: Add the wine, beef stock, thyme, and bay leaf.  Scrape up any brown bits from the bottom of the pot.

Step 5: Cover the pot and transfer it to the oven. Cook at 325°F for 1 1/2 hours.

Step 6: Stir in the potatoes and carrots. Return to the oven for another hour until done.

Step 6: Stir in vinegar and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper. Garnish beef stew with fresh parsley.
