Searching for the perfect sweet treat for Valentine’s Day? Indulge in these delectable Yogurt-Dipped Strawberries, elegantly drizzled with chocolate. Packed with flavor, low on calories, and sure to delight both adults and kids.

I’ve always preferred having a romantic meal at home over going out on Valentine’s Day. What better way to show your loved ones how much they mean to you than to prepare them a delicious, home-cooked meal? Some of my favorite romantic dishes are my Marry Me Chicken, Lemon Risotto with Peas and Asparagus, and Dark Chocolate Almond Clusters.
My Yogurt-Dipped Strawberries with Drizzled Chocolate are the perfect Valentine’s Day treat. They're juicy and sweet with a hint of tanginess. Using creamy Greek yogurt helps make these treats feel really indulgent even though they’re actually very nutritious.
Ruby red strawberries are enrobed in creamy vanilla Greek yogurt and frozen until solid. Then they’re drizzled with luxurious, melted dark chocolate. After all, you can’t have a Valentine’s Day dessert without chocolate!

Dark chocolate has the highest concentration of these powerful compounds. Read more about the health benefits of dark chocolate.
Ingredients

Ingredient notes and substitutions. See recipe card at the end of the post for full recipe details.
- Strawberries- the star of the dish! I like to hull the strawberries because then when I slice them in half, they look like hearts. If you’re short on time, you can skip this step.
- Yogurt- I use vanilla Greek yogurt for these yogurt covered strawberries. I like Greek yogurt rather than plain yogurt because of it's nutritional benefits and also because it's thicker and coats the strawberries well. You can use strawberry yogurt if you want the strawberries to have a pink color rather than white.
- Chocolate- I use good quality dark chocolate to drizzle on the yogurt covered strawberries.
How To Make Yogurt-Dipped Strawberries Step-By-Step
- Step 1- Wash and dry the strawberries completely and hull the strawberries with a paring knife, removing the green leafy tops. Place the yogurt in a bowl and stir until smooth. Carefully insert a fork into the hulled end of one strawberry (use a small cocktail fork if you have one).
- Step 2- Dip the strawberry into the yogurt, turning it to coat the entire berry.
- Step 3- Place the yogurt-dipped strawberries on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a wire rack.
- Step 4- Place the baking sheet in the freezer and freeze until firm, about 1 hour. At this point, if you want a thicker yogurt layer, dip the strawberries in the yogurt one more time and refreeze (I did two layers of yogurt in the photos).

- Step 5- Melt the chocolate in a small bowl in the microwave. Pour the melted chocolate into a small sandwich bag and cut off the tip of one corner. Using the bag like a piping bag, drizzle some chocolate onto each strawberry.
- Step 6- Place the berries back in the freezer and freeze until solid. Leave the strawberries out at room temperature for about 10 minutes before serving. Serve whole or sliced in half lengthwise.
Chef's Tips
- You can coat the berries with a single layer of yogurt. For a thicker coating (like the ones pictured), freeze until firm and then dip them a second time.
- If you have a small cocktail fork, this works great when you're dipping the strawberries.
- Customize your toppings by adding other ingredients like chopped nuts, shredded coconut or sprinkles.
- Let the strawberries sit out for 10-15 minutes after removing them from the freezer so that they’re easier to bite into.
- These yogurt-dipped strawberries aren't just for Valentine's Day! They're perfect as a healthy and refreshing snack for your kids or yourself. They're also great to serve at parties because they feed a crowd and can be made ahead of time.

Recipe
Yogurt-Dipped Strawberries with Drizzled Chocolate
Ingredients
- 1 pound strawberries
- 1 cup vanilla Greek yogurt
- 1.5 ounces dark chocolate
Instructions
- Wash and dry the strawberries completely. Carefully hull the strawberries with a paring knife, removing the green leafy tops.
- Place the yogurt in a bowl and stir until smooth. Carefully insert a fork into the hulled end of one strawberry (if you have a small cocktail fork, this works great). Dip the strawberry into the yogurt, turning it to coat the entire berry. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a wire rack. Repeat for the remaining berries.
- Place the baking sheet in the freezer and freeze until firm, about 1 hour. At this point, if you want a thicker yogurt layer, dip the strawberries in the yogurt one more time and refreeze (I did two layers of yogurt in the photos).
- Melt the chocolate in a small bowl in the microwave, stopping to stir it often so that it doesn’t scorch. Pour the melted chocolate into a small sandwich bag and cut off the tip of one corner. Using the bag like a piping bag, drizzle some chocolate onto each strawberry.
- Place the berries back in the freezer and freeze until solid. Leave the strawberries out at room temperature for about 10 minutes before serving. Serve whole or sliced in half lengthwise. Enjoy!
Notes
- You can coat the berries with a single layer of yogurt. For a thicker coating (like the ones pictured), freeze until firm and then dip them a second time.
- If you have a small cocktail fork, this works great when you're dipping the strawberries.
- Customize your toppings by adding other ingredients like chopped nuts, shredded coconut or sprinkles.
- Let the strawberries sit out for 10-15 minutes after removing them from the freezer so that they’re easier to bite into.

Such a great idea to use instead of white chocolate. I'd totally gate crash your valentine's day dinner...or at least pretend to be the server ๐
sonaliruder says
Haha, that would be quite the fancy Valentine's Day dinner if we had a private server! There are very few foods that I would say I don't like, but white chocolate is definitely one of them.

We also love staying in on Valentine's day as well. I don't do overcrowded restaurants ;). Chocolate + strawberries..who doesn't love that combo? But with Greek yogurt? I'm in! Extra protein, probiotics, and of course calcium (being Asian, this is esp so so important!) among other things are just what I need ๐
sonaliruder says
Thanks for the awesome comment Min! Happy Valentine's Day to you and the Hungryman, I hope you guys have a wonderful weekend!
