These delicious and healthy Greek Yogurt Berry Parfaits are perfect for breakfast, snack or even dessert!
This post is sponsored by FAGE; however, all thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.
Whether I’m looking for a filling breakfast, a healthy snack or a light and satisfying dessert, I often turn to Greek yogurt. It’s one of the items I have stocked in my fridge at all times.
As a chef, I appreciate its versatility and I love to use it in a wide range of culinary applications. As a doctor and mom, I‘m a fan of the nutritional benefits and convenience. And as a foodie, I love the taste!
My yogurt of choice is FAGE Total 2% plain Greek yogurt. FAGE is the perfect match for my lifestyle.
I love the texture and distinctive, delicious taste. That rich, creamy texture is obtained through an extensive straining process.
No thickeners, additives or preservatives are used. FAGE is made with only two ingredients- milk and live active yogurt cultures.
Because of the straining process, it’s rich in protein, more so than traditional yogurt. It’s also a good source of calcium, which is the most abundant mineral in our bodies and serves many vital functions.
Many yogurts on the market today contain a lot of hidden sugar and are often sold with sugary toppings. I much prefer to use FAGE Total 2% plain Greek yogurt and add my own healthy toppings.
FAGE has no added sugar and pairs well with a wide variety of ingredients.
Some of my favorite toppings are fresh or dried fruit, nuts, granola and cacao nibs. If I want to add some sweetness, I add a drizzle of maple syrup or honey. That way, I’m controlling the amount of sugar going into my dish.
Greek Yogurt Berry Parfaits
These Greek Yogurt Berry Parfaits are my idea of a perfect match. I start with FAGE Total 2% plain Greek yogurt and add my favorite fruit- fresh raspberries, strawberries and blackberries. The sweet berries paired with the tangy yogurt are a classic pairing.
I always like to have a little crunch so I sprinkle on some sliced almonds and chunky granola for texture. And finally, for a little richness and decadence, I add a few shavings of dark chocolate.
These parfaits are perfect for breakfast. The protein and healthy fat will give you energy and keep you full and satisfied throughout the morning.
You can even prepare them the night before and refrigerate them overnight so that you’re not rushed in the morning.
One of these parfaits is also an excellent nutritious and easy after school snack for my daughter Sienna. It’s just enough to satisfy her without ruining her appetite for dinner.
It’s even a great choice for dessert- sprinkle on some extra chocolate shavings if you like! All of the flavor of a delicious dessert with none of the guilt. Sounds like a perfect match to me!
