I’m a big fan of smoothies. They’re quick and easy to make. Plus, they’re such a great way to get lots of nutritious fruits and veggies into your diet. Plus, my kids love them! This is especially nice because I can throw in a wide variety of nutritious ingredients that they typically may not want to try.
Although I'm from New York, I live in sunny South Florida now. With beautiful, warm weather 365 days of the year, I love making smoothies all year round, especially green smoothies. All you need is a high-speed blender and you're ready to go.
It's great being able to take advantage of the abundant fresh produce. However, if you live in a cooler climate, you can always use frozen fruit when fresh fruit isn't in season.
Just check out the freezer section of the grocery store. You’ll find plenty of fruits and vegetables that are frozen at their nutritional peak, just waiting to be popped into the blender to make a healthy, refreshing smoothie!

If you think you're not a fan of green smoothies, I hope one will change your mind! The sweetness of the mango complements the earthy flavor of the spinach, creating a perfect balance of flavors.
The "green" part of this green smoothie comes from spinach. Spinach is a superfood! It's packed with several important nutrients including Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin K, folate, calcium and iron. It also gives the smoothie a lovely verdant hue.
If the thought of spinach in a smoothie is not appealing to you, have no fear! The addition of mango, banana and grapes gives the smoothie a refreshing, sweet flavor.
Mango is a tropical fruit that is loaded with nutrients such as vitamin C, vitamin A, potassium, and fiber. It is also a great source of antioxidants that help protect the body against various diseases.
For the base of this mango and spinach smoothie, I like to use almond milk but you can use any type of milk or even coconut water. And finally, if you want an extra boost of protein, you can add a scoop or two of vanilla protein powder.
Simply put all your ingredients in a blender and blend on high until smooth and creamy. It's as easy as that! You can serve the smoothie chilled or at room temperature, depending on your preference.
