This delicious Chocolate Banana Date Smoothie will not only satisfy any chocolate cravings, it will also give you a boost of essential nutrients to fuel your body. Your kids will love it too!

I make a lot of smoothies- not only do I love them but my kids love them too. Smoothies are great as a post-workout snack or an on-the-go breakfast. They’re also one of the few things I know my kids will always try. Plus, I can add in all sorts of healthy ingredients so it's a win-win situation! All you need to make a delicious smoothie is a few ingredients, a high speed blender and about 5 minutes. Check out my Quick Guide to Making Smoothies.

Chocolate Banana Date Smoothie
This delicious smoothie will not only satisfy your sweet tooth, it will also give you the nutrients you need to fuel your body. My kids are chocoholics so I decided to make them a chocolate banana smoothie. After all, you can’t go wrong with that classic combination!
To naturally sweeten the smoothie, I also add a couple of Medjool dates- my new favorite trick to sweeten foods without adding refined sugar. Dates are also great to sweeten muffins, cakes, and quick breads.
For an extra boost of nutrients, feel free to add a tablespoon of ground flaxseed or chia seeds. Both are rich in fiber, omega-3 fatty acids, and phytochemicals. To learn more, read my post all about the health benefits of flaxseed or my post about chia seeds.

What a great way to start the day! I will be on the lookout for Barlean's mix, as this sounds like something I would really like adding to my smoothies 🙂

wow I'm gonna have to try me some of that Barlean's blend, because I LOVE their chocolate greens! Use it in warm almond milk or my coffee every day 🙂 but coconut, chia and flax all in one? sounds like the perfect blend! Not to mention, looks like it was a great addition to this delicious looking smoothie!
