Ingredients

Ingredient notes and substitutions. See recipe card at the end of the post for full recipe details.
- Milk: You can use any milk of your choice including daily milk, unsweetened almond milk, cashew milk, oat milk, or even coconut milk. Dairy milk and soy milk will have the most protein.
- Pumpkin Purée: Be sure to use 100% pumpkin purée and not pumpkin pie filling, which contains added sugars and artificial flavors.
- Frozen Banana: The frozen banana adds a creamy texture to the smoothie without watering it down like ice can do. Plus, it helps sweeten the shake naturally.
- Vanilla Protein Powder: Use a scoop any type of protein powder that you like- whey protein or plant-based protein powders are both great options.
- Almond Butter: Almond butter adds protein and healthy fats. You can substitute any nut butter like peanut butter (will give a stronger flavor) or cashew butter.
- Spices and Flavorings: I use a combination of pumpkin pie spice, cinnamon, and vanilla extract to give the shake that pumpkin spice flavor we all love! If you don't have pumpkin pie spice, you can use a mixture of cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, allspice, and cloves.
